Justice For Jamar Clark Update

In the early morning of November 15th, witnesses in North Minneapolis say that 25 year old Jamar Clark was handcuffed on the ground and shot ‘execution’ style by Minneapolis Police. The hashtag #JamesAndPlymouth, in reference to the location of the incident, quickly started trending on social media and a march was planned for 3pm on Sunday, the 15th.

Minneapolis #BlackLivesMatter activists then began an occupation in front of the 4th Precinct and a sit-in within the inner foyer.

On November 16th more than 50 people were arrested while blockading Interstate 94 in North Minneapolis including a local Fox-affiliate reporter, a Unicorn Riot reporter (Niko) while live-streaming the action, and Nekima Levy-Pounds president of the local NAACP.

The camp has expanded in front of the 4th Precinct.

Local activists are posting their needs online. Activists are pledging to maintain their occupation in front of the 4th Precinct until Mayor Hodges and the Minneapolis Police Department release the footage of the police shooting, which would have been recorded by nearby video cameras - and the names of the officers involved with the shooting.

We are sorry to learn of the unfortunate news that Jamar Clark was removed from life support early Monday, according to multiple sources. Activists will continue to demand accountability and justice in his honor.
